Review of The French Connection (1971) by Max K — 07 Nov 2008
This film and "Bullitt"are chiefly remembered for their car chases which is criminally unfair on both. This has it all, violence, intrigue, humour and lots of action.Popeye Doyle in plain clothes(a Santa suit!).
..the gritty slummy NY locations...the stakeouts...Rey as the sophisticated crook..Yes-THAT chase.
