Review of The FP (2011) by Neil Q — 21 Jun 2012
Finally, a parody that kicks ass! The FP follows two rival gangs that fight for control over Frazier Park - The FP as they square off in Dance Dance Revolution. It's ridiculous, and that's why it's awesome.
The basic story reads like an 80s movie with our hero having to avenge his brother, fight the rival gang and get the girl. But the guy looks like Emilio Estevez as Snake Plisken, eye patch included, other characters are like a combo of Rad and The Warriors, the movie spoofs titles like Rambo: First Blood and 8 Mile, there is a lot of deliberate over-acting and enough action to make it feel like an Adult Swim cartoon.
The FP may not be intended for a mainstream audience, but fans of absurd movies who are used to Japanese cinema and know how to enjoy VHS relics will be more than happy with this one. Must see? To quote a line from The FP: Check a look at this!
