Review of The Fox and the Hound (1981) by Andres A — 04 Nov 2011
They say you have to step back sometimes to appreciate a work of art, and that is exactly the case with me and Fox and the Hound. Look at it the first time, it's a predictable rip off of Bambi, but if you watch it as if its the first time, you are amazed at the vibrant animation and the poignance surrounding the movie.
"Goodbye May Seem Forever" shows one of the sadder scenes in all of Disney history. The best part about this movie is that is has no postmodern cheese at all. The rivalry between Tod and Copper continues past the end of the film and the truce is made just to stay out of each other's way.
