The Fox and the Hound is full of 1980's satire, forming itself to the very basics necessary for a comprehensive narrative. But the film's primary theme keeps it likable and entertaining by 80's standards.
With a little more thought in the storyline, and perhaps some more multi-dimensional, less stereotyped characters, The Fox and the Hound could be up for a quite impressive remake.
