Review of The Four Times (2010) by Ollie W — 11 Jun 2011
It was strange to see such familiar places on screen, as Calabria is probably the least depicted landscape in Italian cinema, so I much enjoyed the cinematography. The plot revolves around a meditation on the cyclical passage of life and at times this is made perhaps too extremely apparent (a man dies, a lamb is born).
Nonetheless the documentary parts of the film offer a very rewarding experience, visually and intellectually.
