Review of The Four Feathers (2002) by Anton B — 03 Feb 2009
Trying for prestige instead of fun, director Shekhar Kapur veers his film away from the realm of rousing swashbuckling adventures, and instead chooses to make a more-stately historical epic. The film seems undecided about whether Heath Ledger's Harry Feversham is initially a coward, or if the wrongheaded pride of his comrades is to blame.
Enjoyable though, particularly if one likes these sort of stories about honour and bravery and soldiery in the British Empire.
