Review of The Four Feathers (2002) by Rowena C — 31 Jan 2010
This movie was set in the late 1800's in England. Harry (Heath Ledger)a British solider is in love and just asked the girl he loves Ethne (Kate Hudson) to marry him.
When he returns to his post he finds that they are going to be shipped out to the Sudan for war. Harry becomes terrified at the thought of war. He resigns from the army. His friends give him three feathers as a sign of cowardness.
As he talks to Ethne she thinks he doesn't want to go because of her. He tells her it's not her He never wanted to be the army and doesn't want to go to war. She says "Then you are a coward." This is where he gets the fourth feather. Harry sets out to prove everyone wrong by following his fellow officers.
This movie is pretty good. The acting by Heath Ledger is great. Yes, the movie could have been better. If you are a Heath Ledger fan it's worth your time to see this performance by this gifted actor.
