Review of The Fountain (2006) by Alex — 29 Nov 2006
The Fountain, for some, is a movie that has to be seen a couple times before its finally understood. for others, its a visual masterpiece that actually lets you think freely about what it was really all about.
it probably would have done a little better on the independent film circuit, since there are some concepts in the movie that the mainstream probably won't be able to grasp, and some will probably pass it off as a "thin plot".
in order to truly enjoy the movie, you have to think deep, and keep an open mind. some of the acting was a little over done in certain places, but the overall feel of the movie grabs hold, and stays until long after the movie is over.
8 out of 10.
