Review of The Fountain (2006) by Mloy X — 04 Jun 2011
Beneath all the artsy effects is just the stereotypical story of death and dealing with loss. Pretty emotional performance from Hugh Jackman but the jumping from the story, real-life and lore counter-parts of their characters was too distracting to give the film a real depth.
It's a shame really, "What Dreams May Come" with Robin Williams and Cuba Gooding Jr. was a better film about loss and dealing with it, told in this similar fashion.
