Review of The Fountain (2006) by Timothy S — 26 Mar 2014
Unfocused? The movie is entirely focused and revolves around the theme of accepting death. It's also one of the most beautiful films I've seen in recent memory. Jackman's understated performance is one of the best I've seen by him (I thought he was overrated in Les MIserables.
..) As for Aronofsky, I think this is the best film I've seen by him (miles ahead of Black Swan). At the same time, this isn't a movie for everyone but if you can ease into it and be drawn into the story it's very rewarding.
