Review of The Fountain (2006) by Robert H — 29 Mar 2014
THE FOUNTAIN, written and directed by Darren Aronofsky, is an epic tale told in three separate timelines and is about love, life, death and rebirth. To talk too much about the specifics would be kind of hard, but also spoil the viewing experience.
The "story" is really just a way for Aronofsky to explore some rather heady philosophical themes. And while the narrative might be lacking, he has created a feast for the eyes and some things to think about.
Overall, this is an incredible film that demands multiple viewings. Not for the average moviegoer.
