Review of The Founder (2016) by Ryan B — 09 Dec 2016
A sharp companion piece to Siegel's other scripts - The Wrestler and Big Fan - The Founder is a conventional but pointed look at yet another American business icon who succeeded through sheer perseverance.
Like The Social Network and Steve Jobs, this film doesn't shy away from emphasizing the moral bankruptcy and ethical brutality that Kroc uses to achieve his goals even at the cost of human decency.
Keaton shines in the role and adds a layer of sympathy and charisma to a character that could've easily been one note.
