Review of The Forty-Year-Old Version (2020) by Sanctuarydecine — 25 Dec 2021
It's funny how Hamilton on Disney+ can get nominated for Golden Globes in 2021 for a show that was recorded in 2016 but a movie like this can't get recognition from the Hollywood Foreign Press Association.
Her talent is just amazing, this film shows how a white person can be at the top for being either average or mediocre while people of color have to struggle just to get their foot in the door, especially women of color. if a white person can act, a person of color has to be able to act, sing and dance, and even then that still doesn't guarantee you a seat at the table.
I don't know if that's the message the movie was trying to say, but none the less still a very underrated artist and film.
