Review of The Forest (2016) by Tina M — 14 Jan 2016
I love Natalie Dormer in GoT and Hunger Games, so when the boyfriend (a horror fan) wanted to see this, I was up for it. 5 minutes in, I wanted to leave because I was bored out of my mind. By the end of the movie, I wish I had and gotten my money back.
Not sure if it's the script, director or Dormer, but her performance when not having to scream for mediocre at best. Scenes with her husband or sister were just bland and flat. Did the movie make me jump? Yes, but that's not hard to do with pop-ups.
Certain parts seemed like it was trying too hard to be frightening with cliches and overused shots. Just overall, I wouldn't see this again if someone paid for my ticket. Waste of time. Massive Diappointment.
