Review of The Forest (2016) by Ricky G — 08 Jan 2016
The first movie of 2016 of course it's gonna be a bad horror movie it's been this way for years. Last year we had The Woman In Black 2 (Horrible) this year we have The Forrest starring Natalie Dormer who I really love as Margery in Game Of Thrones but I couldn't stand in this movie.
I kept seeing people saying this movie is "bad but enjoyable." I disagree, while I will not say it is Sinister 2 or Paranormal Activity bad, it is bad. The story is interesting enough but this movie suffers from what every horror movies suffers from nowadays, a poor plot, acting, and lazy direction.
It's seems like every director is so lazy now all they do is add jump scares and they consider that "scary" I get so irritated writing or talking about bad horror movie because the whole industry now just adds jump scares and the new generation thinks that's what a scary movie is.
Hopefully The Witch can help bring horror movies bad to what they're suppose to be, the trailer looks creepy and tense I'm really excited for that movie. Maybe even The Boy will be good but I doubt it.
Anyway don't go see this movie it's boring and that's what disappointing about this film because you had such a good premise but just decided to be lazy with this project. Hopefully we actually get a good horror movie this year.
