Review of The Foreigner (2017) by Mary Y — 11 Oct 2017
I have seen several movies with similar premises in the past, but this one is so much better than most of the genre that birthed it. We've all seen Taken and it's sequels, and we all remember the Harrison Ford version of Jack Ryan as well.
With that in mind, Jackie Chan did something to touch my soul tonight in a performance that made me cry in the first 10 minutes. Jackie Chan is an amazing actor when he does drama, and I'm sad not enough people know that about him.
Driving the plot is an antagonist that is so sleazy and so bad, it makes you want to shower when you figure out what is behind his motive. Now I won't give spoilers here, but I promise this is a great movie if you love action films, or if you love complicated puzzles, or if you just want something different.
