What the film lacks in knowing what a good movie is, the interesting plot (despite being non-coherent), the well-acted characters, and the fight scenes manage to prove that the major flaw can be resolved.

With that said, The Forbidden Kingdom did have the opportunity to use the Hong Kong actors/actresses to their advantage, and it did so well, yet the majority of the cast exist in the apparently non-existent part of the movie, which is a key blow.

But given time and patience, The Forbidden Kingdom could become a classic for years to come.
