Review of The Foot Fist Way (2006) by Elliot G — 21 Jan 2009
A truly unsettling little movie. The whole thing is either terrifying or hilarious, but to call it one or the other would be unfair to what the (independent) filmmakers really accomplish, which is to create a remarkably eccentric character study filled with very funny performances, not the least of which is Mr.
Danny McBride, one of 2008's big breakouts. He somehow makes Fred Simmons, certainly one of the most pathetic film characters of late, an oddly endearing and rounded human being. That and a few interesting stylistic touches make this movie worth watching.
