Review of The Foot Fist Way (2006) by Harry W — 17 Jan 2013
The Foot Fist way isn't all that impressive. The screenplay isn't so incredible and the film doesn't achieve much. It does, however set up some decent themes for the film to handle and a good performance from Danny McBride who succeeds in dealing with drama as well as the comedic intentions of The Foot Fist Way.
Unfortunately. It fails to deliver them properly or have any satisfying conclusion which leaves the viewer unsure of what the actual meanings are behind the story. It also makes martial arts seem like a stupid and simplistic sport in a less comic than insulting fashion.
However, it does fairly well on the incredibly low budget it exists on and provides a good lead to Danny McBride who clearly has a large comedic film career in the future, and possibly in drama. It seems as if theres a lot to be desired with The Foot Fist Way though, but they tried. They could have tried harder with the story though.
