Review of The Foot Fist Way (2006) by Nicole M — 24 Jan 2009
North Carolina native director Jody Hill sets his freshman effort in Concord, NC (near Charlotte), the heart of NASCAR country. Mr. Simmons owns a tae kwon do studio, endures a loveless marriage, and fancies himself a greater martial arts master than he really is.
The film chronicles his interactions with his skanky wife, cocaine-snorting hero, and some exceptional students. You'll be pleasantly surprised at how genuinely entertaining the results are.
