Review of The Foot Fist Way (2006) by David S — 14 Apr 2009
American martial arts film with a refreshingly unsympathetic anti-hero. There's nothing cute about Danny McBride. Even next to his cheating wife or the pompous B-movie star, he's an outstanding jackass. In most films, he'd be the villain to a puppy-eyed dweeb hero. The film has a puppy-eyed dweeb, but he learns and respects this jerk. I could see him becoming more McBride-like in the future.
Don't like unlikable protagonists? Avoid. Also, look at yourself deeply in the mirror tonight and consider if you're an unlikable protagonist in your own life.
