Review of The Foot Fist Way (2006) by Bobby L — 26 Nov 2009
The main character was despicable and unrelatable (had he been one or the other, I would have been more ok with it). As a well made movie, it wasn't. It was a lot of point and shoot type stuff, which works if you have a dialogue heavy feature, but here, part of the focus is the martial arts, which are boringly presented.
The subplot with the wife screwing everyone was not funny, and a good number of scenes didn't go anywhere (and I do not mean the didn't push the plot forward, I mean they, as scenes, never amounted to much).
However, when they go the to karate expo (or whatever martial arts it was) onward, especially the party and finale showdown in the gym, were excellent and much more amusing than the first half, but it was far too little too late.
