Review of The Foot Fist Way (2006) by Russell A — 30 Aug 2010
Julio: Who would win in a fight between Bruce Lee and Chuck "The Truck"?
Fred: What, are you kidding? The Truck, easy. He's a eight year undefeated kick boxing champion.
Can Bruce Lee say that? No.
Bruce Lee is dead.
Aw not fresh. But oh so good nonetheless. Danny McBride has quickly become a fan favorite especially one of mine. The problem with the movie is essentially the source material, seems too rich for words doesn't it? Kinda like Anchorman. The movie plays like an SNL skit stretched out to 90 minutes, it just doesn't have enough. Even for a fan. The first half plays out very well but grinds to a halt in the second act.
Every scene littered with McBride is pure comic gold, giving you memorable quotes you'll be reciting for days on end.
Yes it's not big budget movie shot for 73K. Think of it as the Blair witch project of comedies but intentionally funny though.
The movie is not enough to convert non fans but enough to make fans like me write a review on a movie you otherwise would have never heard of.
