Review of The Fog of War (2003) by Edward J — 13 Dec 2007
A documentary interview with Robert S. McNamara from a great director, Errol Morris. McNamara is the former Secretary of Defense under JFK and Johnson. Its a very informative, educational, entertaining, and surprising emotional film from this one man's view of American wars and history.
One of his quote from the film, "human being needs to think more about killing human being." His examination with each war. His decision making, his knowledge of consequences, and most of all, his duty as the Secretary of Defense of USA.
This is a film that won and deserved the Oscar. Its a film not just about American wars, but the error we humanity continue to repeat until today. The film is well timed, and Errol Morris never ever bores anyone in his film.
Whether it is about pet cemetery in Gates of Heaven, or the reflection of American war history in The Fog of War.
