Review of The Fog of War (2003) by Ola K — 09 Sep 2008
He is well articulated in a reserved diplomatic way. At the same time he´expresses himself with the biggest empathy.. It´s stunning how a person who himself really admits he would be seen as a war criminal if the Nazis had won, seems like such a kind and interesting person.
McNamara explains how much bombing there was in Japan BEFORE the atom bombs were dropped.. He says America bombed 90% of Japans major cities during WW2. Cities the size of New york and Washington. How many can figure three times as many bombs as in the entire second world war, was dropped in Vietnam? McNamara was both Kennedys and Lyndon B Johnstons right hand.
This is his faschinating tale of his decitions that determine victory/life or defeat/death for millions of people.
