Review of The Fog (2005) by Matthew K — 20 Apr 2011
Carpenter's classic is given a truely awful remake treatment made all the sadder that Carpenter himself is listed as one of the producers. His spooky story of vengeful spirits coming back to avenge their murder in a small fishing village is trashed in just about every department from cheesy CGI ghosts to the wooden acting of it's entire cast.
None of the atmosphere, tension or scares of the original are present and the script is just plain terrible. I lost a lot of respect for Carpenter for approving this garbage and even putting his name on it.
