Review of The Flying Scotsman (2006) by Katie L — 02 Apr 2011
Um... it was good, but I don't feel like I ever need to see it again. I appreciate seeing a cycling movie based on a true story that deals with adversity in sports, as well as in Obree's personal life (he's bipolar, and I don't think they every flat out say that, but it is mentioned many times that sometimes he gets sad/down on himself).
Jonny Lee Miller is charming (have you watched Eli Stone? Awww) and this is a big departure from the other film I associate him with (Trainspotting)... the ensemble was great and the film was well paced.
I just was not overwhelmed with team spirit when it ended like when I'm watching other sports movies like Miracle or The Rookie.
