Review of The Florida Project (2017) by Jessica M — 05 Feb 2018
Life isn't fair. But when you're a kid, you don't know that. One of the most painful things to watch is a kid in pain whose pain you can't prevent. This pain is the pain of Americana, the America of the uneducated, the trash, and the willfully ignorant. Other movies might celebrate it, and others yet might mock it. This movie simply shows just how awful it is to grow up among people who simply couldn't care less.
Brooklynn Prince and Bria Vinaite shine as Mooney and Halley, respectively. Willem Dafoe's Bobby is terrific as well.
