Lars von Trier's auteurist experiment is so successful that it disappoints me to know more filmmakers haven't risen to take over from where The Five Obstructions ended, and to spawn a cinematic series based on this concept.
At the top of that wish list, I would love to see Chris Marker take up the challenge with "La Jetee".
