Review of The Fisher King (1991) by Caleb C — 19 Jan 2011
A great classic from Terry Gilliam. This is most likely his least bizzare film he has made. It works on every level and the acting is outstanding here. Mercedes Ruehl definetely earned her oscar win here. I think Robin Williams may have been robbed for this one, but I have yet to see all the other contenders for that year.
The story here show how tragedy leads to a human connection like no other. The halusinating imagery in this film along with it's cinematography is candy for the eyes for sure. If you haven't seen this film yet, do yourself a favor and go rent it, or it might be playing on the movie channels, which is how I was able to see it.
