One of the top 5 performances of Robin Williams' career. The movie has its shortcomings but if you know Terry Gilliam, then you should expect a roller coaster ride through weird fantasy to real life to melodrama to maudlin ideas to perfect little moments in time.
It may not be perfect and is not one of Terry Gilliam's better films (see BRAZIL, TWELVE MONKEYS or TIME BANDITS), but it's his own version of movie magic...and that works for me.
