Review of The Fisher King (1991) by Paul B — 05 Mar 2011
A sweet, refreshing piece of storytelling set in the backdrop of modern urban America, this drama is nostalgic, tender, melancholy, and exquisitely funny. The story concerns the mutual redemption of two men who could hardly be more different from each other, and its message- that sometimes, the hidden, mysterious corridors of life may be the best portals of discovery- is archetypal without being outdated.
A beautiful, inspiring film.
