Review of The Fisher King (1991) by Fo T — 27 May 2011
> > > Director Terry Gilliam is a crossover between Tim Burton and Peter Jackson. His films are so exotic, mesmerizing, and superfluous. His 1991 feature "Fisher King" is a left-turn to his usual gig. It's more visionary and unique dramedy.
- Robin Williams is Parry, a hallucinating homeless man haunted by a tragic past. Jeff Bridges is Jack, a radio d.j. who, unbeknownst to him, was greatly responsible to what has become of Parry. The two intertwine only to find answers for forgiveness; peace of mind, and significance of true friendship.
- The two leads showcase first-rate performances. Supporting cast are all realistic. Gilliam's fantasy allusion is somewhat still present; but the film's comedic gesture is just remarkable.
> BestMoment:
- Jack on a heist to steal the Holy Grail for Parry.
> BestQuote:
- "I'm a knight on a special quest.".
