Review of The First Wives Club (1996) by Bil A — 17 Oct 2007
Nothing like the original novel, which was fluff anyway, this is a fun film driven by pure Hollywood power. All three women turned 50 the year they filmed it, and none of them showed signs of possessing any less the amount of star quality that they had in their youth. Of course that could be because they come from the seventies, when talent was celebrated, as opposed to now where a woman merely has to be a man's lazy standby fantasy to get a ridiculous amount of attention from the press.
Plus it's got Sarah Jessica Parker!
