Review of The Finest Hours (2016) by Brian C — 14 May 2016
A fine movie with plenty of drama, a bit of action and a pinch of romance. It's a true story too. If you know anything about sailing, engineering, or boats (I was a engineer for the Navy); then this movie will resonate extremely well.
The marine expert did a flawless job on this movie. Everything checks out and sets a standard. The romance department did a poor job at making dramatic moments by breaking reality thou... So, I admit they compromised a few unrealistic moments for romance (I hate these terrible scenes: Like when everyone drives their cars to the edge of the shore for no reason at all, like a bunch of retarded lemmings.
Then realize, "Hey, lets follow the girl. Turn on the lights because the sailors can't see land with the light house broken/off"). Anyways, very good movie if you can relate; average if you don't know much or care about sailor stuff.
