For a movie that never aims high, The Final Girls is not entirely a disappointment. The mother-daughter angle of this story and the relationship they form in time travel saves an otherwise second-rate plot.
While the story isn't top-notch, the cast makes up for it with laughs that aren't as cheap as they feel.
