Review of The Final Destination (2009) by Sebastien H — 03 Sep 2011

I don't remember if I ever saw one movie of this saga (maybe the first one but I really am not sure at all! but I really have the feeling of having seen a movie of this kind or maybe was it only a trailer..). Anyway, a promotion on the ticket price and the 3D stuff encouraged me to go see this movie. I noted 3 negatives points :

- Some accidents are really absurd and not original at all (for god sake why do we have to see a guy being smashed by a car in every movie!!!).

- The acting and some dialogs are really "low-roof" sometimes (too much time I must badly confess but I suppose the special ambience will be lost with too much dialogs).

- The 3D is not perfectly worked out, but maybe it's not doable, anyway there are some good 3D stuff (rofl @ feeling the depth of the mutilations, also seeing the "weapons" coming in 3D through the screen also highlight the violence of the accident).

Other good points are the "never-been-done-with-accidents-movie", even if we could know it would be like that, it's still freakening to get more accidents when you think it's safe now, but of course everybody had to die, but sometimes you come to think they changed the rules , but .....no :D.

- so the nice sequencing of accidents reinforced by the premonitions aspect ! you think it's easy and not original but at the end you feel it's really kicking you up and that the stuff works to make you paranoiak.

- so we have some good suspense and stressing moments there, because u know someone will die but the thing is to know if they will show you all the scene or only a few aspects :D The music is well stressing and the credits and final scene quite original giving also both some good rythm in the movie (which maybe didn't need it because of being very short but this is not really a problem).

- we have also some funny moments in the scenes (funny because of being good cliche like in the scene in the theater when ppl watch a 3D movie - you know what I mean ;-), and also when the guy try to kill himself but fail :D) and also some situations when you imagine which accident could happen but this is not it coming but another one, so you are still being checking and waiting the final ..... destination (okay this was easy I know).
