The Final Destination is the newest film in the ten year franchise from New Line. I don't think I really need to tell anyone the plot of the film because I assume we all know the FD formula: Youths meeting grisly ends at the hands of the sickle carrier.

I will start with the good first by mentioning the main attraction: the kills. Some people in the audience walked out at some, but if you went to see this, you should have known. Anyway, getting off track, the kills are top notch ranging from slightly realistic to the utterly ridiculous (including one bordering on Looney Tunes), but they are all enjoyable for the fans.

Next we'll talk about the gimmick of 3-D. If you didn't or can't see it in 3-D, It probably won't be as enjoyable. The 3-D really enhances the visuals, but not always for the better. Which leads me to talk about the bad aspects.

The film relies on the 3-D a little too much and renders some aspects of the film a little too cheesy, even for this franchise. The gimmicks (such as a scene in a 3-D movie theater) are several, but they don't ruin the film for me too much.

The only other major complaint is the racist neo nazi character was unpleasant and just wasn't needed. Overall, I would conclude the film as fun, but flawed and I do recommend it, If you are willing to shut down your brain for a while.

In my final words: This is FAR from the FINAL destination.
