Review of The Final Countdown (1980) by Hany D — 07 Nov 2010
This was a pretty fun movie, but my problem with it is it's just a giant cock tease. You have a 1980 aircraft with a full fleet of planes, helicopters, armaments, even a freaking radar plane. They are transported back to the day before Pearl Harbor.
They spend the whole movie establish that they know where and when the Japanese are gonna attack. The captain even says...Fuck the space time continuum! We're gonna help the US win at Pearl Harbor.
So just when they launch the attack and are about to curb-stomp the Japanese...POOF zipped back to the present and nothing happens. SERIOUSLY! They build up an alternate WWII where the Japanese are brutally destroyed with Jets and modern equipment but noooo! Nothing.
..stupid cock-tease...I have blue balls now.
