Review of The Final Conflict (1981) by Priscilla M — 08 Nov 2010
After tghe so so second film this one isnt actually all that bad ,in fact its stands up very well on its own.
Sam Neils performance as the adult Damien is the main reason to watch the film,he controls every scene he is in and you feel his presence even when he is off screen.
The plot is well constructed around 7 preists aiming to destroy Damien with one of the seven daggers which have popped up through all the movies.
The deaths are well executed (pardon the pun) with the ambassador death and the deaths on the bridge being the most effective.
Graham Baker does at least seem to know what he is doing with Andrew Birkins script and the addtion of Rossano Brazzi as FatherDe Carlo adding to the films overall quality.
It may have its detractors but I happen to like this film alot more than Omen 2.
