While it's Mark Wahlberg, who plays the main part, The Fighter is definitely a movie smashed by the magnificent performance by Christian Bale. With its heroic tale about determination and ambitions, it stays strong in the boxing drama genre.
Although foreseeable, it is able to stun the viewers with its intensifying atmosphere and believable depiction of harsh urban reality. Mostly based on true events.
