Review of The Fearless Vampire Killers (1967) by Liolia K — 12 Jan 2007
This is a fairly hard film to catagorize - for the most part it plays as a comedy, but there are some moments of plain horror, as well as an oddly downcast ending. On top of all this it is, quite simply put, amazingly fucking beautiful to look at.
Polanski casts a nicely skewed look at vampire myth, while also keeping the atmosphere and feel of some of the true old horror classics. Definately one of his best films, and well worth checking out.
