(1959) The F.B.I. Story.
DOCU-DRAMA.
On the first 10 or so minutes feels like a promotional tour of the FBI headquarters, then it generalizes it's history in terms of successful missions such as old time gangsters as Dillinger and "Baby Face Nelson" among other things. Using nice guy James Stewart's persona playing a fictional character John Michael ('Chip') Hardesty involved with some of their most important missions and solving some of U.S.'s most memorable murders. For a running time of 149 minutes, it's like this for more than 2 hours with the star coinciding his job with his personal life and his family. Footnote: This movie was also approved by J Edgar Hoover (who also has a small appearance)and the F.B.I.
2.5 out of 4.
