Review of The Favourite (2018) by David O — 14 Jan 2019
The Favourite gives us a film with splendid costumes and decour alongside some great performances. The jokes are risque and the adult content is a refreshing and funny take on period dramas, with its only drawback being the jarring visual choices coupled with its overly artistic moments.
The strength is in its ability to comment on the the truly bizare tropes of this period and the engaging drama that unfolds between are central characters.
