Review of The Family Fang (2016) by Aïko G — 11 Jul 2016
The Family Fang is a movie with an amazing story and good acting. But overall it didn't really convince me enough to be excellent. Jason Bateman brings us a story about two siblings that grew up mostly acting in their younger years together with their parents.
Fun and innocent at first turns into a dysfunctional family when everybody has grown up. When something happens to the parents, the siblings go through an emotional rollercoaster to find out the truth.
The sort of paranoia, never knowing what is real or fake, is one of the best things in The Family Fang. But for me the pacing in this movie is a little off. This results in some very interesting parts where plot twists are piled up together and discoveries are everywhere, but also a lot of boring moments where nothing really happens and with some scenes that are in my eyes unnecessary.
