This great story of the falling stars Maisie Williams, Florence pugh and Maxine peake in a story about two girls who are best friends at an all girl boarding school in England. Set in 1969 the story revolves around an epidemic of fainting that happens within the school. All the girls in the story are trying to figure out what is going on while at the same time trying to navigate the world around them since so much has been changing around them.

So many great elements make this film a dazzling work of art. it's usage of music room instruments for the score actually creates the type of mood and setting for this film. It's a brilliant musical decision. The films main theme song "Follow you down" is a beautiful and slightly haunting piece of work that also sets the tone and mood for the film. It is really well shot and lit.

Just like with sophie turner, aiden gillen, Peter Dinklage, Charles Dance, Lena Headey and Natalie dormer it is interesting seeing a game of thrones star (in this case maisie Williams) in a more modern setting . All the girls do a fantastic job here including Williams. They all play young women that at times stumble and fall but they continue to pick themselves up no matter what.

Its sort of a coming of age drama mixed with mystery. its very suttle but it has that emotional pull to it that sucks you in. it gets more and more surreal as you watch. these kids are in the midst of this crucial period in theirl life and there are being scared by a dangerous threat. they immediately have to grow up in this situation and realize the world they are soon going to be thrown into can be rough sometimes.

Carol morley direction is so precise and worked to perfection. no one star gets a major focus here the film goes beyond all the characters it highlights so key feelings that we all have went through in someway or another. uncertainty, friendship and hysteria are big motifs in this picture. The only negative thing about it was the editing was a little sloopy at times and there was a bit too much jump cutting. Despite that however, the film truly was excellent and really should have been nominated for a BAFTA.
