Review of The Fall (2006) by Sheldon C — 22 May 2011
Visually spectacular in its outstanding production design, lavish costumes and exotic locations, THE FALL is a beautiful film that compels and dazzles despite a fun but shaky story that struggles at times to hold the detailed plot together.
The shots are amazing and the colors pop, and the acting is filled with theatrical and expressive elements (understandable given these events as grounded in fantasy and imagination). In the end, Tarsem Singh's second film, which alternates between two contrasting worlds within the narrative, is touching, exciting, and above all, very artistic.
