Review of The Factory (2012) by Brendan N — 04 Jan 2013
Saved by a crazy ending this otherwise typical horror film struggles to find its own feet. The film direction is quite good to look at and the snow setting gives us a great horror setting.
John cusack throws himself into a typical detective film that gives the audience a premise that seems quite boring on the surface. Jennifer carpenter has very little to do here but look pretty. Both her and cusack have under written characters. I would have liked more back story of the villain to show a little more understanding. He is creepy to a point because we just don't get the full coverage.
The ending will leave you puzzled and its a shame because it really does pull the rug from underneath you. If you enjoy a thriller that is without thought you will enjoy this. This could of been a very unpredictable film had it focused a little more on character.
