Review of The Eyes of My Mother (2016) by Paul Y — 11 Mar 2017
Some things are better left outside your mind. The character at the centre of the story is psychotic and painted here as a kind of victim. She is not, she is a heartless monster who displays all of the classic pathology of a psychotic.
It's like the script is trying to conjure up a completely dark wash of broken human mechanics just for the sake of it. There is no resolution and no side taken from the films point of view, the moral point of view is drained of all colour like the picture itself.
Beautiful photography earned it 2 stars.
