Katie Holmes really couldn't act in this one. She just seemed like she was eitehr trying too hard or at times her character was just supposed to be a spaz. John C Reilly was pretty funny as a guy who can sing (and we know he can cuz he was in Chicago) but has this high pitched voice when he talks.
It does have some funny parts in it, but its not like you will be laughing through then entire movie. It was just dry and boring in parts.
